Designs and develops layouts for electrical circuits or systems. Assists in the production of detailed schematics and electrical panel mechanical design.  Reports to a manager or lead. Works on projects and matters of limited complexity in a supporting role. Work is closely supervised.

Responsibilities 

  • Modifying the following: 
  • 3D control panel assemblies with Autodesk Inventor. 
  • Electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical. 
  • 2D panel drawings with AutoCAD Electrical or Autodesk Inventor. 
  • Maintains correct Bill of Material information within all CAD packages, Product Data Management systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems 
  • Assists with Adding and maintaining items within a shared parts library 
  • Project Management duties include: 
  • Completion of CAD drawings to a deadline. 
  • Releasing Bills of Material for procurement and manufacturing. 
  • Following revision and change request processes. 
  • Production of printed hard copies of drawing packages 
  • Production of Equipment Labeling such as wire labels and engravings  
  • Utilizes established techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. 

Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in drafting 
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing design 
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in 3D solid modeling. 
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with engineers, customers, sub-contractors, and suppliers 
  • Self-motivated to learn about technology and improve processes. 
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player.  
  • Ability to travel (less than 10%), work weekends, holidays and overtime when required.  

Preferred 

  • Experience/Certification in AutoDesk Inventor or Dassault Solidworks 
  • Experience in Dassault EPDM, Autodesk Vault or Windchill PLM. 
  • Experience/Certification in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical. 
  • General knowledge of electrical systems. 
  • Experience in electrical manufacturing design. 
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturer’s drawings, schematics, and manuals.  
  • Basic knowledge of electrical procedures, standards, and specifications. 
  • Basic knowledge of electrical equipment, construction, and regulatory codes. 
  • Experience working with an Oracle ERP
