This new hire will work in Hunt Valley Plant, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Maintenance Team Manager will report to a Department Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of Department Manager, this position manages and directs all Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities and provides leadership and technical expertise to the process and production departments at the Hunt Valley Plant
  • Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment
  • Meeting or exceeding established goals (Process Reliability - PR%, cost, waste, safety, quality, sanitation, uptime, reliability and other performance standards) as they relate to packaging equipment 
  • Serving as a maintenance resource for all Utility Mechanics in areas such  as Total Productive Maintenance techniques, Automous Maintenance, machine shop practices, lubrication programs, maintenance standards, & future packaging direction
  • Supporting and developing McCormick’s High-Performance Work Systems (HPWS) Business Teams to ensure that information flow, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvements are an integral part of the daily activities
  • Managing training needs for the PM group to ensure that skill levels are managed and advanced as needed to support plant equipment
  • Resource planning, daily management, and implementation of key initiatives including TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Effective Maintenance, PR% , Safety, Planned Maintenance, Annual Planned Restoration Rebuilds, & breakdown records
  • Identifying, analyzing, and reducing equipment downtime and repetitive failures and interacting cross-functionally to resolve issues
  • Working with teams to develop cultural and action plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant
  • Understand the budgeting process to be able set a maintenance budget, forecast expected spending, and track actual expenses, with variance explanations.
  • Manage all safety related activities associated with maintenance work including, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, work Permitting and Contractor Safety.
  • Develop mechanical maintenance training plans to enhance the skills of Mechanics and Production Technicians.

 

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of plant maintenance supervisory experience required
  • Experience with consumer products packaging equipment required
  • Experience with complex high-speed packaging equipment required
  • Experience improving packaging lines required
  • Leading and executing safe work practices in a manufacturing facility
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required
  • Demonstrated participative management and leadership skills required
  • Experience in a high performance and/or team building environment required
  • Experience improving Process Reliability (PR%) or Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE%) required
  • Root Cause analysis experience required
  • Demonstrated planning ability and understanding of business decisions based on financial, inventory and customer service indicators required
  • Knowledge of CMMS, SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool required
  • Experience managing projects through to successful completion required
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillar experience preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Zero Based Budgeting experience preferred
