WHO are we looking for?

Saft America is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer. In this position, you will contribute to the design and development of the next generation of lithium-ion batteries for Defense, Space, and Racing applications. Saft is HQ’ed in France, with 4,300 employees in 18 countries. Our manufacturing site in Cockeysville houses the research and development of Saft America’s Space and Defense Divisions.

What will you DO?

• Design, analysis and modeling of new and upgraded mechanical components
• Project work encompassing scope definition, tender document creation and ongoing support of contracts
• Preform in field task support, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
• Support engineering with routine engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
• Work independently on daily tasks
• Design, test, and deploy tooling and equipment to sustainably service our Energy commercial product line
• Create design packages and instructions for proper manufacturing and assembly of designs
• Assist in engineering prototype builds and component fabrication
• Modeling and design of mechanical systems and components including plastic, metal and sheet metal parts, insulators, wire-harnesses, fasteners, and other components
• Mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, design for assembly & manufacture, and design for test

What experience is REQUIRED?

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• A creative personality with the ability to think outside the box.
