This is a Packaging position within Covergirl, Rimmel, and Max Factor North America with responsibility for developing and implementing packaging components. This includes, primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. It requires understanding multiple packaging materials and configurations. It also requires the ability to manage and execute multiple projects at once. This position has the responsibility of working closely with cross functional team members to develop and launch new product/packaging solutions into the market in addition to cost saving initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities. Leading the update and phasing in and out of new component specs across brands while working with multiple functions to minimize downtime and cost. Working cross functionally as well as with external vendors and manufacturing facilities. Managing and executing multiple packaging projects while developing a working knowledge of technologies. This is inclusive of leading projects related to sustaining base business, innovation, cost savings and continuous quality improvements. Proficiency in all systems used for Packaging Documentation: Developing packaging component drawings and specifications, packaging BOM's, finished packaging specifications and distribution specifications. Additionally, writing all Packaging Commercialization Documents used for testing and qualifying all packaging components at manufacturing facilities. Understanding the relationship between the package, product and process in order to effectively develop packaging solutions that sell and protect the product, while maintaining an efficient, cost-effective process cycle. Building relationships with the business team and customer. Understanding the wants and needs of the consumer; delivering packaging that will enhance the consumer experience though use or occasion. Guide discussion during product team meetings, communicate technical issues and details to the project team and management. Manage IP (intellectual property) within area of responsibility Guide Discussion during product team meetings; communicate technical issues and details to the project team and management Co-ordinate the development efforts with outside component suppliers as well as contract manufactures both domestically and internationally Co-ordinate preparation of package prototypes for functional testing according to ASTM methods Maintain a common level of technical discipline to those assigned. Collaborate with peers in execution development of the objectives set by the department Director THE COTY IDEAL FIT Bachelor's Degree in Packaging or related field Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience preferred Demonstrates leadership and influencing skills Good problem-solving skills SAP and Spec System knowledge a plus Depth of technical expertise on multiple packaging materials or packaging / processing systems Ability to write and execute an implementation plan on a project using sound technical methodology Understands the cost and performance drivers of packaging materials Determines the type of testing to simulate the distribution environment.
