Position Description:

Perform engineering duties for BWP in the design or alteration of machines, sections, systems, units, or parts with consideration of manufacturing feasibility, cost, and operation.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with design/alteration of machines, sections, systems or units
• Prepare layouts using CAD tools
• Assist in evaluation of designs; make engineering changes
• Prepare BOM, assembly drawings/schematics using CAD
• Assist in supporting manufacturing/assembly teams
• Maintain project file
• Support field teams with technical assistance as required
• Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

• Basic Engineering and Technology – basic knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology
• Mathematics – knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus
• Physics – knowledge of prediction of physical principles, laws, interrelationships, and applications
• Basic Mechanical – basic knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Basic Design – basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of CAD software
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Typically has 2-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Candidates who recently graduated from college will also be considered for entry level engineer position.

Supervisory/Responsibility:

Role reports to Engineering Supervisor, Engineering Manager or Principal Mechanical Engineer; this position does not directly supervise other employees

Work Environment:

This is an office position associated with a manufacturing facility.  Although the employee may spend a portion of his/her time in the office area, the employee’s essential job duties also require the employee to spend a portion of his/her time in the manufacturing area.  The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the employer when in the manufacturing area.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the constant use of standard office equipment; visual and mental focus; light lifting may be required in order to inspect goods; frequent travel is expected.

Position Type:

This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek will require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.

Travel:

 Frequent domestic and/or global travel is required for this position.
