Essential Functions
CNC Machinist
Set up and run CNC machines (lathes, milling) making necessary adjustments to NC programs to minimize downtime and errors in parts production.
Finish or deburr manufactured parts using various equipment and devices to ensure a smooth finish and proper fit.
Prepare raw materials for use in machining and welding operations.
Measure finished parts or those in production with precision measuring instruments to assess progress and ensure match blueprints and sketches.
Cut and sand various materials and parts to drawing specifications.
Work hours FT 7am-3:30pm.
Other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED; Associated degree with course work in automated manufacturing technology preferred.
Machinist apprenticeship to journeyman experience; Two (2) years specialized experience preferred.
NC/CNC certification preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read drawings, schematics, sketches and understand oral instructions.
Good understanding of all machine shop principles.
Thorough knowledge of cutting tools such as end mills, boring bars, drills, taps, slitting saws, and turning tools / inserts.
Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs using G-code.
Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC machining centers.
Proficient in use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc.
Sound basic math skills including algebra, geometry, trigonometry.
Ability to interpret technician drawings and geometric drawings.
Ability to set up and operate a full range of machines and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
Ability to measure (where and how) using proper tools.
Proficiency in use of CAD/CAM software.
Candidates who have personal tools (a plus, not required).

Physical Requirements
Job requires standing, working with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds 75% of the time; moving, being stationary, communicating, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reaching.
Job requires use of CNC lathe/mill, hand tools, air and surface grinder, belt sander, horizontal band saw, cutoff miter saw, hydraulic and drill press, calipers, micrometers, bore and threaded gauges, edge finder, parallel set, etc.
Environmental Conditions
Job works near/with moving mechanical parts and machine shop equipment more than 75% of the time; sharp edges/parts and emission of liquid approximately 50% of the time.
Noise level is typical for machine shop.
