Job Summary

The individual will be painting large and small component parts for the aerospace, military and commercial customers. They will spray a variety of different paint types using spray paint guns. They will be expected to follow proper manufactures specifications and using paint worksheets in mixing supplied coating materials, paint mixtures and thinners to obtain proper consistency of painting surfaces.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate traveler instructions and adhere to operating procedures
  • Apply paint, primer and standard finishes to a variety of parts and products as required by the traveler
  • Must be able to compute and calculate small equations of liquid measurements and volume
  • Visually inspect all jobs. Ensure paint and primer adhesion and drying is completed
  • Using sprayers to apply paint in a consistent manner
  • Properly mask small and large components and parts for painting
  • Will need to clean and maintain spray equipment daily
  • Will need clean and perform maintenance on spry booths on a monthly basis
  • Will complete and maintain daily logs and records as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Vocational, high school, or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in painting with spray guns
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions
  • Knowledge of paint types and solvents
