Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of R&D cells across multiple form factors
  • Lab scale mixing of powders
  • Use of common lab equipment, meters, and test devices
  • Support World Class. React timely to 6S audits findings. Support Lean Manufacturing events
  • Prioritize Safety in the R&D dry room and the Plant
  • Assist to maintain inventory of required raw materials and supplies
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Housekeeping of R&D areas during shift
  • Various assigned tasks as needed

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

  • Able to stand on one’s feet for long periods of time
  • Able to pass the respirator physical
  • Follow instructions
  • Work well from procedures
  • Good hand / eye coordination
  • Can work with others, as well as independently
  • Lab/cGMP background helpful

Requirements

  • BS Degree (or equivalent experience in a STEM field)- preferred
  • High School Diploma with 1- 3 years of relevant lab/manufacturing experience, preferably in battery manufacturing.
  • Experience in assembling Li-ion batteries with common techniques - preferred
  • Experience with coating electrodes and slurry preparation - desired
  • Read and Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Experience with receiving, inventorying, organizing, and storing materials is helpful.
  • Follows work orders in achieving productivity.
  • Develops knowledge base of different systems and procedures.
  • This candidate will be primarily responsible for performing R&D activities related to the program. This will include all aspects of assembly by hand and testing of prototype electrochemical cells.
  • This will include lab scale powder processing, operation and maintenance of cell test equipment and material analysis using various devices
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions.

  • Dry room atmosphere – low humidity, air conditioned
  • Understand PPE requirements and use equipment provided by company properly.
  • Safety glasses required
  • Safety shoes required
  • Lab coats/hairnets required
  • Occasional use of PAPR required
  • Standing – 60%
  • Sitting - 40%
