About This Role

The Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to support our growing family of unmanned naval products.  We are engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for domestic and international customers. This position will provide the following opportunities:

  • Create concepts of operation and system architecture for Unmanned Naval Vessels for existing or novel commercial, industrial, or military mission requirements.
  • Design systems to apply autonomous and remotely piloted capabilities within existing naval operation regulations, communication standards, and marine environments.
  • Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Prepare and present engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews and as deliverable reports.
  • Support integration and test events on the water, including hands on troubleshooting in a Navy test environment.
  • Drive tasks to completion independently.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience, with preference to air, land or sea vehicle integration. 
  • C/C++, Python, and/or Java programming experience
  • Object Oriented Design (OOD) experience
  • Experience with command and control of autonomous systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with boat or small ship operation preferred.
  • Experience with model based systems engineering methods and tools preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Military Standards preferred.
  • Effective technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Travel: 25-50% in support of on-water integration and test events.
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required.
